EquiLend, a Wall Street fintech firm, has experienced a cyberattack that has caused a portion of its systems to go offline. The incident occurred on January 22 and EquiLend is currently working with external cybersecurity firms to investigate the attack and restore services. They have informed their clients that the process may take several days to complete. This attack comes shortly after private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe agreed to acquire a majority stake in EquiLend. EquiLend is partly owned by some of the world’s biggest financial firms, including Goldman Sachs and BlackRock Inc.
