Ann Dora Garner, the vice president of operations at Commercial Bank in Ozark, has retired after 43 years of service. Garner began her career at the family-owned bank right after high school, starting as a bookkeeper and later moving up to a teller position and then the loan department. After a brief break due to her husband’s job transfer, Garner returned to Commercial Bank in 1986 as a vice president. Throughout her career, she witnessed significant advancements in banking technology, but always valued the personal touch that the bank provided to its loyal customers. Commercial Bank chairman Charles F. “Charlie” Harper praised Garner for her dedication and said she will be greatly missed. Commercial Bank, founded in 1959, is Dale County’s only independent community bank.
